Description
VERY RARE (Reportedly 500 copies printed) beautiful condition TRUE UK 1st Edition 3rd Print containing a loose original Philosopher’s Stone bookplate hand signed by JK Rowling.
Numberline included 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3
Beautiful condition book and jacket, very minor pushing to extreme top and bottom of the spine (photographs added) take nothing away from the fine condition of this highly collectible edition.
This is the first trade Philosopher’s Stone which was ever offered with a dust jacket and has been quite widely reported in the press recently with the sale of another copy.
The paper stock used for this 3rd print is of much higher quality than the 1st or 2nd prints so yellowing of pages is very seldom, the boards and pages are pristine, as to is the dust jacket and there is no fading whatsoever to the vivid colours of any part of the cover or jacket. The jacket has one very small nick to the top fold of jacket (shown close up in image)
A very special book.
Included in this sale is a rare hand signed matching Philosopher’s Stone bookplate, rarely used now by JK Rowling and highly collectible. The bookplate is of heavy card material and kept loose with the book. This is a stunning undedicated signature.
100% provenance provided and full receipt of purchase as always is included.
Creative Framing & Memorabilia
As professional picture framers we use only the highest quality ph-neutral conservation products for all our own displays, essential for the correct protection of your signed investment, these include as standard:
Frames:
We use high quality bespoke frames that will enhance all displays as we are not restricted by budget or choice.
Design:
We always aim to use completely original designs which when we have are date stamped. Custom graphics, text and quality make our displays stand out from others.
Glazing:
Only UV anti-glare glass is used throughout our displays as standard. ALWAYS remember standard glass or acrylic/Perspex have no proven UV protection whatsoever and even out of direct sunlight autographs/items will fade and discolour – guaranteed. We use Tru-Vue glazing products; and depending on the individual piece will be stated to which level of UV protection is contained, up to 99%.
Mounts:
The highest quality and smoothest mountboard is used to prepare all our photo-mounts to keep the ripple (cockling) effect to the absolute minimum possible. We use only a solid ink matt print system to 280gsm paper to reduce the chance our photo-mounts will fuse to the glass as all photos do over time. Laser cut mounts are of conservation quality suede effect mount-board supported by archival backing and mount boards.
Assembly:
Acid free tapes, archival hinging ensure no contaminants will come into contact with any signature. For the highest value items we use Japanese or Mulberry paper and rice starch for the ultimate protection.
